More sockets. Better lighting. Done right, first time.

Most homes accumulate electrical needs over time — extension sockets, extra USB outlets, new kitchen appliances, outdoor lighting, a home office circuit, bathroom LED mirrors. We handle all of it cleanly and correctly, with the right certification for every job.

Every piece of additional work we carry out is tested before we leave and backed by a Minor Works Certificate or a full EIC, depending on the scope. Your safety, and your paperwork, are both in order.

Dedicated circuits for ovens, hobs, dishwashers, washing machines, and fridge-freezers — correctly rated, labelled, and fitted to your kitchen layout.

Dimmer switches & smart controls

Single and multi-way dimmer switches, smart lighting control systems, and programmable scene controllers — wired and commissioned to your specification.

Certification on every job

Every job is certified — Minor Works Certificate for smaller additions, full EIC for larger works. You get the paperwork you need, every time.

Bathroom electrical work: All electrical work in bathrooms must comply with the zone requirements of BS 7671. We only fit fittings rated correctly for their zone — and we'll advise on what's permissible before we quote.

6 things we can add to your home

Call us or book a free quote — most jobs are simpler and faster than you expect.

01

Extension or loft conversion

New extensions and loft conversions always need new circuits — lighting, sockets, potentially heating. We fit them to the same standard as the rest of the property.

02

Kitchen renovation

New kitchens need new power — induction hob circuit, oven supply, integrated appliances, under-cabinet lighting, and USB sockets on the worktop.

03

Garden lighting & outdoor power

Weatherproof sockets on the patio, ground-spike garden lights, automatic security lighting, and soffit lighting — all on correctly protected outdoor circuits.

04

Home office circuit

Dedicated power for a home office — multiple sockets, clean lighting, and a circuit that doesn't share load with the rest of the house.

05

Bathroom lighting

LED mirrors, downlights in the correct IP rating for the zone, shaver sockets, towel rail feeds, and underfloor heating connections — all to zone compliance.

06

Smart lighting or dimmers

Multi-way dimmers, scene control, or a smart lighting system — we wire and commission all major brands and work with your chosen system to get it running correctly.

How we carry out lighting and power work, start to finish.

Most lighting and power jobs are straightforward and fast — often completed in a single visit. Here's what to expect from booking to certificate.

Most additional socket and lighting jobs take half a day or less. Larger jobs may take a full day. We'll confirm duration when we quote.

Free quote

We visit, discuss what you need, agree positions and finishes, and give you a fixed written quote — at no charge.

Route cables

Cables are chased into walls or clipped and trunked neatly, depending on your preference and the construction of the property.

Fit accessories & test

Sockets, switches, and light fittings are fitted, connected, and tested for correct operation, polarity, and continuity before we tidy up and leave.

Certification issued

You receive a Minor Works Certificate for smaller jobs, or a full EIC for larger works — issued the same day the work is completed.

Common questions about lighting and power

Do I need a qualified electrician to add sockets?

Strictly speaking, you can add a socket to an existing ring circuit yourself — but any new circuit, or work in kitchens, bathrooms, or outdoors, must be carried out or certified by a qualified electrician. We'll advise on what applies to your job when you enquire.

How many sockets can I add to an existing circuit?

It depends on the total load on the circuit, the cable size, and the protective device rating. Most ring circuits can accommodate additional spurs up to a point — but there's a limit. We'll assess this during your survey and tell you whether an existing circuit is sufficient or a new one is needed.

Can you install outdoor sockets and lighting?

Yes — weatherproof sockets, garden lighting, security lights, and driveway lighting are all things we do regularly. All outdoor circuits are on their own RCD-protected circuit, buried at the correct depth where underground, and installed with armoured cable where required.

What certificate do I receive for additional electrical work?

For smaller additions (adding a socket, fitting a light), you receive a Minor Works Certificate. For new circuits or more significant work, you receive a full Electrical Installation Certificate. We'll tell you which applies when we quote.

Can you install smart lighting or dimmers?

Yes. We work with all major smart lighting systems and standard dimmer switches — single-way and multi-way. We wire and commission the system and can advise on compatibility with your existing setup.

Do you do bathroom lighting?

Yes — LED downlights, illuminated mirrors, shaver sockets, and extractor fan wiring. All bathroom electrical work must comply with the zone requirements of BS 7671, and we only specify fittings with the correct IP rating for their location.

How long does it take to add a socket or light?

A single socket or light fitting is typically a 1–2 hour job. A full room of sockets or a new circuit might take half a day. We'll give you an accurate time estimate when we quote.
